Brace yourselves, your in for an array of photo, a profuse amount of photos I should say...

So a few weeks ago I had the pleasure of working with the very talented ladies from Parlour Salon, U street, Dc. I got to capture the beauty of hair, makeup, and clothes with my little cambam. After hours of prepping we headed out on the streets of DC to scout out for some neat backdrops to complement each outfit. Running around U street taking pictures, I was just so fascinated how all the streets were covered with so many unique and interesting elements. I would love love love to do another shoot on these streets, probably when it gets warmer, hopefully soon! Okay back to fashion aspect of the shoot...so all throughout the afternoon these gorgeous ladies got to pose and flaunt different styles. I was completely smitten by every outfit in this shoot, oh how I wish I had them all to myself! Overall it was a versatile fashion shoot, from the timeless classic look to the urban street style, each and every look was exceptionally trendy and bold. So for once, lets talk about makeup...

As much as I adore looking at makeup tutorial and fashion photos, I really don't experiment much on myself with makeup. I know change is always good and admire girls who can rock all the fun eyeshadow colors everyday, but I really like to keep my makeup simple and natural. There's only a few makeup products I use on the daily and I swear by the quality of these products. First product is Clinique's Even Better Makeup, trust me when I say this, I will never ever use another foundation as long as I live! This product has great coverage and blends in perfect with my skin. I can never get over how lightweight and silky its feels on my skin, sometimes I forget I'm even wearing foundation at times. This is probably the most expensive product I use on my face, but it is worth every single penny. Second makeup product I gotta rant about is CoverGirl's Lash Blast, most of you lovely ladies use this product because its probably one of the best mascaras out there. It really works wonders and gives you that vavavoom feel, long and thick lashes. This mascara definitely lived up to its statements by volumizing each and every lash. You will not be disappointed! Last but not least my favorite eyeliner, Loreal's Liquid Eyeliner. Ever since I was 15 I used eyeliner and I've learned that nothing can ever match this product. To make my eyes brighter and bigger I like to line the top of my eyes with liquid liner and sometimes pull off the cat-eye look. No doubt its long-lasting and easy to use. The sponge-tipped pen allows you to create fine or thick lines with precision. This product is my most beloved makeup item, I never leave this baby behind. There ya have it, my 3 most used makeup products. What makeup products do you love?

Stylish photo frame DIY

These days ive been tacking a lot more projects than usual. Its probably cause most of my projects are simple and don't take much time and effort, but they are still darn good to look at and appreciate.For those you who want to display your photos and other nick-knacks in a stylish manner, i think this project would be perfect for you. It really is a easy project that doesn't require much material and you can probably find most of the supplies in your household. For this tutorial I'm not gonna go into that much depth with the instructions, but Im sure you guys will get the idea, and possibly even expand and get extra creative with this project.

Get a good sized frame that can accommodate the photos you want to display. I used a 12x8 plastic frame, you can either use a wooden frame or plastic. Grab yourself a glue gun, scissors, string, and clothes pins.

Since its February, I wanted to be festive and incorporate hearts in this project. You can find these cute heart clothes pins at Michaels craft store for only a dollar, or you can just use plain tiny clothes pins

Turn the frame backwards and measure out the amount of string you'll need to glue to your frame.

Try to make sure you give tension to the string when gluing it onto the frame, and use hot glue on the bottom and top of the string to keep it in place.

Once the glue has dried you can start hanging the pictures on the string with the clothes pins and space them out to your liking. I used a few of my instagram prints which I purchased a while ago and cutouts. It really is as easy as it sounds. Happy Monday all you lovely people!

Last weekend went to 930 club in DC to see Augustana live for the first time. Let me start off saying that its always a great experience seeing shows at 930. Its the perfect size for a venue, its big enough to have a nice crowd, but small enough for that intimate feeling, its an all around great venue!

So these three young talented girls you see up there^ call themselves Say Chance. With just an acoustic guitar and 2 voices, they did a wonderful job opening up for Augustana. I checked out a few of their videos the day before the show and I immediately loved their style and original songs. Unfortunately there were a few technical difficulties with the mic but despite that problem, they managed to still deliver a beautiful show.

Well just wanted to share these lovely voices with ya guys. I have to keep this short cause I have to head out soon but over all show was unbelievable, especially seeing Graffiti6 perform. Here are a few other pictures from that night.

Yesterday we celebrated Valentines day in my Awana class, which is a children's ministry at my church for those of you who dont know. In my class, I have a good group of cheerful and energetic 3 & 4 year old kiddos, who by the way never cease to make me smile. It really is a beautiful thing to see these precious kids give their attention to God's Word and understand His amazing love. You may think these kids are too young to comprehend anything, but they honestly soak in what they hear, and I've observed them practice love through their actions. Its a joy to guide these kiddos in the path towards Christ and witness them grow throughout the months.

So to make the day festive, I put together some goodie bags for each kid in my class. The bags were filled to the rim with a bunch of goodies and surprises. Target had a bunch of sweet and cheap stuff for Heart day, I had to restrain myself from buying too much cause I wanted it all! Anyways I purchased a bag of simple heart lollipops and made them more appealing by dressing those suckers up with bowties and smiles.

These bowtie pops are perfect for kids and are so easy to put together. Just cut out bowtie shapes from colored paper and use a hot glue to stick em in the bottom of each heart. Dont forget to give these pops some eyes and smiles, oh ya and probably a nose. Hope you guys like the idea and try it out for yourselves!

A geometric kind of love

Valentines is just around the corner, so now is the perfect time to craft up some love. Jumping into this project, I really didn't know how I wanted the end results to look like. I started off with the desired to use heart shapes and triangles and went on from there, piecing everything together. Try it out for yourself!

The supplies your gonna need is:

a glossed wood heart (you can purchase it at Micheals or ACMoore. the one i purchased was painted red )
scissors
a few of your paint swatches
modgepodge
paintbrush
yarn
spray paint (its optional)
fabric glue or hot glue gun

Grab all the supplies you need and grab color swatches that you think would look well together, take into consideration what color you want the heart to be, and think of a color motif that works for you.

I wanted to stray away from the typical Valentines day colors and use gold for the heart and a cool color scheme for the triangles. Spray paint both the front and back of your wooden heart.

This is where the fun part comes in, cut out the paint swatches into different size triangles and start arranging them together. To be honest with you, this takes a while to piece these geometric shapes together, its quite the puzzle. Use modge podge to paste the triangles to the heart. Once your composed a desiring piece with your triangles, apply modge podge on top of your design to give it that glossy look.

Once the modge podge has set and dried, grab your fabric glue or hot gun glue and yarn. Use the yarn to spell out the word "love in cursive". To make it easier you can first write it out on the wood and use that as a guideline. Trace the writing with the glue and immediately place the yarn on top of the glue. I personally rather use fabric glue because its strong and tacky. It doesn't dry as fast as hot glue, so you can take your time. The disadvantage using fabric glue is that it takes forever to completely dry (about 8 hours), but when its dry, its really secure. So after finishing the last letter, measure out how long you want the heart to hang. Take the end of the yarn and glue it to the back of the wooden heart. Make sure the glue is completely dry before you hang it up.

Display your piece of art or even give it as a Valentines gift. You can make this piece as personal as you want. Experiment with different shapes, textures, and you can even use cut out photographs to add to the heart. Really make it your own!

A sleeve stamp

After finishing a hot cup of morning joe from Starbucks, you eventually toss out the cup along with the coffee sleeve. Well the next time you buy yourself a cup of coffee, you may want to rethink about tossing out that cardboard sleeve.

A few days ago I took a trip to Starbucks to grab an americano, after downing this cup of goodness, I ripped apart the sleeve out of boredom. Immediately I thought the ridges inside of the sleeve would be a perfect stamp, especially since I'm a sucker for lines and patterns. Tried it out and I loved the results the ridges on the sleeve make. So the next time you grab some coffee, save the sleeve and try it out yourself! Its super duper easy and this stamp would be perfect for other paper projects. I put together a simple tutorial for you guys..

Take a coffee sleeve and rip the ends apart and decide on what shape you'd want to cut out.

Once you cut out the shape you desire, glue something on back of the piece to be used as a knob. I used a hot glue gun to glue one of my tiny thread spools on back of the piece, and it worked perfectly.

Place some ink or paint on a plate and gently place your stamp on the ink. You might want to test the stamp on a piece of paper before you stamp it onto the actual paper you want for the pattern.

There ya have it, easy as can be. The results look pretty awesome, especially if you stamp the pattern on top of each other. Hope you have fun with this tutorial!

Im beginning to think that snow isn't coming our way this year by the looks of it outside. The weathers been awfully confusing, ya it sure is winter but the temperature says otherwise. Lately its been 50-60 degrees outside, pretty perfect weather and I really don't mind, especially since I'm not a fan of cold weather.

But for some reason I was really looking forward for snow this year, or even a blizzard. Usually I don't get all hyped up about the flurries and the snow storms but the idea of being snowed in with the people you love, relaxing, and watching movies makes me smile. Well who knows, the weathers been extremely unpredictable so who am I to say that there wont be snow this year. Anyways let me stop blabbing about the weather and greet y'all, Happy February guys! Hope you all had a fun and productive January cause I sure did. My January consisted of working, reading, and creating stuff. I've been designing a heap load of goodies and im super excited to share them with ya. A whole lot of crafting has been going on as well and this month I'll be sure to post up a few DIYs, which will mostly consist of Valentine crafts, so stay tuned! So find sweet support in His sympathy and let this unfailing truth strengthen you.

Just as I listed as one of my goals this year, I want to spend more time painting and drawing, and really be consistent with it. Often times, ideas come to me but I honestly don't do much with these visions, instead I set them aside with the rest of my collection. To release these ideas on an empty canvas and paper is what I hope to do. I thought I should discover and try out new techniques, use different mediums, and allow life's wonders inspire me. So I took a trip to my local craft store and purchased a pack of 4" by 4" tiny flat canvas. With these little blank surfaces, I plan to paint on a canvas every week. Each piece will portray the significance of my week or anything that really inspires me. After a few months I hope to have collected a bunch of tiny paintings/drawing/collages displayed on my wall. I'll try my best to post up my creations every week. For those of you who have a crafty and creative mind, I encourage you to put those skills into practice. Whether it be through art, photography, or music, embrace them. Dont you dare let them run dry, let those creative juices flow. Happy Friday y'all!

One thing I have certainly failed at is keeping up with this blog of mine, but worry not, I havent completely abandoned it. January has been a busy one for me, started a new job, been working on some projects, studying, started school, and been occupied with other activities. I know we are well into the new year and I still haven't blogged about 2012, but trust me, ive been meaning to post my goals. It has taken me quite a while to come up with some goals for myself this year. Every now and then I find myself opening up my journal and adding something new to this list of mine. If any of you guys know me, you know how goal oriented I really am. On the daily I write a to-do list and check off as I go, it can be a little much at times but thats just who I am. Anyways, I'm so ready for 2012 and extremely excited to work on accomplishing these goals.

+ Paint more-- i  have boxes and boxes of painting supplies and i have loads of ideas stored up. So i really plan to try out new techniques and get more into painting.

+ Play guitar-- i know how to play a few chords, play a few songs, but ive always wanted to be good at an instrument and this is the one for me. I need to practice, practice, practice.

+ Learn how to harmonize--its kinda sad how i can sing but never can i harmonize, so i'll be training these ears to find em.

+ Write more--whether it be through blogging or journaling, making an attempt to express myself more through words. I already journal here and there but i really want to write about anything and everything in my journal. Dont care if its about my banal uneventful life. 

+ Get my license-- not my driving lisence but my cosmetology liscense 

+ Craft more-- i want to design more things, play with different mediums and such, oh and of course share my crafts and do more DIYs 

+Save money-- theres so much i plan to save up for and i really need to start keeping track of my spendings. Use my credit card less, eat out less, and not splurge on things that aren't really necessary.

+Sew-- i want to further my skill in sewing, learn how to make more clothing and especially dresses! 

+Reinventing clothes--i am crazy thrifter and with the clothing i usually purchase, i revamp and alter pieces i find into more of a delightful piece. So i'd really like to do more of that.

+Participate in a crafts show-- during the summer and spring, i'd really like to put together a collection of my designs and have a booth to display my work.

+ Reconnect with people-- even though life can be busy at times and tough, i want to focus on keeping my friendships alive. Really reach out to others and invest my time with em. 

+ Get down with the buisnazzz-- i am currently majored in business now and im super duper excited to start classes. 

+ Photography-- take more pictures of course and develop my skill in photography. 

+ Get more involved in children's ministry-- God has really given me a heart for children. I'm currently working with children through Awana but  i pray that He will further me in this ministry, to reach out to other kids.

+ Draw closer to my heavenly Father-- this is my number one focus and should always be my priority. My desire is to seek him with my whole heart and be completely immersed in his love. To honor Him, to glorify Him, worship Him, trust Him, and fall deeper in love with my Savior. A consistent spiritual harmony with Him is what I long for. I also pray that God keeps me humble and selfless, to think of other people's needs before my own.

Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. James 4:8

So that does it for my goals. I'll probably add to this list every now and then but this will do for now.Hope you guys are excited about this year as much as I am!

Last November, I had the pleasure of working with a few of my close classmates from cosmetology school, you know, doing hair and all that jazz. Boy was it great to actually work side by side with these ladies after a few months of not seeing their pretty faces. After graduating at Graham Webb in August, my connections with my classmates/friends became oh so distant, so basically is was a joyous reunion. Anyways we had the awesome opportunity to work backstage styling hair and doing makeup for the F.A.C.E.S models.

I didnt take as much photos as I intended to cause we didn't really have the best seats to be taking quality photos, but anyways i just wanted to rant about one of the designers whose magnificent designs were showcased at F.A.C.E.S. Unfortunately you cant really see the details of the dresses displayed in my photos but let me tell you, her designs are like none like any other. Kalai Kai designs are unique in such a way where the dresses are beautifully and intricately detailed and inspired by the traditional Filipino cultural dresses. The dresses display a modern and elegant, but a fun style. Take a closer look at Kalai Kai designs on her website.
So I'll end here, I know this post is extremely late, but hey better late than never. I'm off to take a nap and rest these tired eyes. Toodles

DIY Teacup Candle

Since ive been using more candles lately, I thought it would be a neat project to make my own candles for once. I purchased this teacup and saucer at a nearby thrift store a while back, for the astounding price of only 60cents. This tiny orange polka dot teacup has been hidden in the corner of my room for a while now, but I couldn't abandon and veil this perfect set any longer. So I turned this teacup into a candle which smells of sweet vanilla. Anyways this DIY is such an easy and affordable project and its the perfect vintage display

Things you'll need

-tea cups

-wicks

-hot glue gun

-microwavable candle wax

Directions

1) Apply a dab of glue in the middle of the bottom of the cup, then immediately stick the wick on top of the glue

2) Then follow the instructions given with the candle wax about how to melt the wax (you can add a scent to the wax once its liquid form)

3) Pour the wax into the tea cup and make sure the wick is straight up

4) Once you poured the right amount into the teacup, wait until the wax has fully dried

And there you have it, a dainty teacup candle, ENJOY!

I was surely blessed to spend the new years with a few close friends in the west side. Although my trip was quite short, I enjoyed every minute of my vacation. I just love those moments when you can catch up with the people you cherish, and thats exactly what my stay consisted of. Oh and of course snapping away on my cambam. 1st Birthday

On New Years Eve day, I arrived early that morning in San Diego. I was excited and ready to spend a beautiful day under the sunny San Diego sky. Once I arrived at the airport, my close friend and I headed over to my friend's daughters birthday party.

I just had to share this marvelous birthday party with you guys. My sweet friend Sarah Joy threw a fabulous first birthday party for her precious daughter. I'm so grateful to have spent that afternoon celebrating Audrey's birthday with the rest of her family and friends. The party was beautifully detailed from the decorations to the delectable sweets. Overall I loved how everything came out, everything was covered in pretty vintage and very personal. Sarah Joy is seriously super mom, she did all the design and decoration. Wonderful job Sarah! Thanks so much for inviting me!

It took me a considerably long time to look through all the photos i took throughout the year of 2011. Looking back i can say i am quite pleased at the amount of pictures i took over the year. I so happen to capture all the precious and notable moments, or at least i hope i did. Its always a wonderful thing to look back and reminisce. 2011 will forever be a year i always remember, i know i probably say this with each and every passing year, but this year has endless reasons as to why it will forever be an unforgettable year. Getting into detail would probably take forever to explain, but overall I have accomplished and learned so much through out this year. Like every year it had its ups and downs, there were plenty of challenges but constant growth. All praise and glory to my Heavenly father who has brought me through the year. I'm so grateful for all the experiences ive been through and all the wonderful people He has placed in my life. After taking a glace at the past, feelings of pure excitement has hit, excited to see what God has in store for me in 2012. Lets be hopeful and prayerful . Hope you guys have a wonderful start into the new year.

Grandma got ran over by an open mic...

Tis the season to spread love, joy, and of course, music. So to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year, a few friends and I hosted a open mic/ Christmas party/ birthday party. It was one eventful evening filled with so much talent, along with food, a Christmas photo booth, mustaches, and exchange gifts. Such beautiful music performances were spread throughout the whole night, and the sight of Christmas sweaters everywhere made it a festive one. Here are some shots from the event..

The Civil Wars

On the day of my birthday, my friend and I, who by the way was also celebrating his birthday on the same day, went all the way out to Charlottesville, Virginia to watch The Civil Wars live.

Now what better way to celebrate our birthdays than by watching a live performance of one of our favorite duos.

I madly heart these two, I mean, whats not to love about Joy Williams and John Paul White?! They are far better than any duo group I can think of. The both have perfect harmonies, incredible range, and such powerful voices. It was hard for me to believe that I wasn't just watching them on you tube, but I was actually adoring their unbelievable voices and their infectious chemistry just a couple feet away. Goodness gracious, these two can undoubtedly deliver an astounding performance, which by the way made me all squrmish inside! Before The Civil Wars took place on the stage, Milo Greene opened up the show. I was kinda disappointed in myself for not knowing who they were before hearing them live because they are the bees knees!
They certainly set an enthusiastic performance, I have never seen so many concert goers awed and speechless after a performance. Not only was I amazed at their flawless four piece harmonies, but also the fact that after every song they switched instruments. Milo Greene is definitely worth checking out. I hope to see them again live in the near future.
Overall it was a beautiful performance, beautiful night, and a beautiful birthday.

In the beginning of last month, my older cousin josh, who lives in San Diego, got to stop by his hometown in Maryland and visit us before he headed off to Afghanistan. We got the news about his deployment to Afghanistan around summer time of this year. Of course it was hard for all of us to accept this reality but we are confident that God is fully in control, and we are trusting in His sovereignty.

We hope and pray he will be filled with strength and peace from God, that he will be kept safe and walk confidently and without fear.

The time eventually came where all the glorious leaves fell off the trees and completely covered the ground, only leaving a slight view of green grass. As hard as it is to let go of the magnificent sight of the trees during autumn peak season, I have to say, scattered leaves set a perfect surrounding for captivating photos and they surely do create the perfect prop!

Its that time of year again, the Holidays are finally here, bringing a sense of togetherness and warmth that makes us all giddy inside. Hope everyone had a splendid and a memorable Thanksgiving, I know I sure did. My heart is constantly filled with thanksgiving everyday for everything He has done. As I reflect on the past --right down to this very moment, I am ever soo grateful for the many blessings God has bestowed upon me. A wonderful supporting family, amazing friends, good health, a roof over my head, and so much more. But most of all, I am thankful for a loving and gracious heavenly Father. Thankful, that my Creator loved me enough to send His Son so that I might have life, and have it more abundantly, even though I am so undeserving. Yup, my brother is officially engaged!

Jenny took a trip down to the east coast from sunny San Diego to attend our family reunion. Little did she know the surprises that awaited her..

This was not any ordinary proposal, my brother made sure his family took part in this momentous occasion. We all helped out in a way to make sure that this proposal was super duper special.

All in all, it was a beautiful proposal set under the night sky, in this beautiful gazebo.

This picture was taken a day after the proposal at the same spot where he knelt down and asked her to marry him.

Im so happy and excited for you two love birds! I'm pretty sure there will be plenty more engagement photo shoots in the near future. Now its time to plan away!

Meet My Fambam

The last weekend of October, I spent some quality time with my family at Solomon's Island. We make it an annual tradition to come together as a family to connect and just enjoy each others company. Thankfully most of my relatives live in Maryland, so we see each other often, but it was a good thing to actually take a break from the craziness in life and relax under the same roof.

I just love love love my family to death. What we have is truly unique and beautiful. Our peerless love and bond is unbreakable and I truly hope and pray that as we get older, our relationship continues to grow. I wouldn't trade anything else in this world for them.

My family is a family of riches--the riches of God's goodness and mercy.

I tried my best to organized all the festivities that were suppose take place that weekend. Most of the activities planned were outdoor activities but unfortunately the conditions outside left us stuck indoors for most of the trip. However the cold and rainy weather didn't stop the fun. When all of us are together, we somehow always manage to have an enjoyable time, no matter what were doing.

Had a few friends spend the weeknend with us. thanks Nathan,Josh,and Jenny for gracing us with your presence.

we played a game of charades, chubby bunny, and spent the rest of the night wrapped up with beautiful music.

After a rainy and cold saturday, the sun greeted us on our last day at Solomons Island, which gave me a chance to take some shots of my beautiful fambam.

Gabby(youngest cousin) picked up a new instrument that weekend.Its the cutest thing watching her play the ukelele

I found this lovely navy blue dress in the back of a closet along with other vintage dresses that belonged to my grandmother. I just love wearing her clothes, she had the most adorable style.

To end the trip, we visited my grandmother's grave site to say hello.

These annual family reunions are always planned on my grandmothers birthday week, and its been two years since her death and we miss her dearly. To celebrate and commemorate the life of our amazing Grandmother, we continue to come together as a family and reminisce about her life and reflect on the positive impact she had on all of our lives. I'm sure shes in heaven over joyed to see her children and grandchildren intertwined in love. We praise God for blessing us with such a loving mother, grandmother, and friend.

Last month I had quite the crafty spree, working with a flood of colorful feathers and plenty of suede. I constructed individual tribal head pieces which were used for a friend's themed birthday party. I know Halloween is over and done with this year but these feathered headbands are such fun pieces, that I would wear em every now and then, well the less extravagant ones of course. Unfortunately for this post I cant put together a tutorial, but i'll post some pictures of the finished pieces, and hopefully it will set a heap of creative ideas and inspiration.

I'LL leave you guys with a bunch of pictures from Laya's birthday party (L.Event). This party was just not any ordinary birthday party. It was beautifully filled with amazing performances(singing&spoken word), face/body paint, tribal wear, and just wonderful people. I'm sure it was a unforgettable event for everyone.

I love Halloween! Its the one time where you can use your imagination and be anyone or anything for the day. In the beginning of the month, I had plenty of ideas for costumes, but when it came down to the actual day, I really didn't have anything together. I threw together a last minute outfit not really knowing what the end results were going to be, but all in all it turned out to be quite the peachy costume. I guess you can say i was a mixture of Ramona flowers, Hello Kitty, and a doll. Anyways, my Halloween was a good low key but a fun evening filled with friends, blue hair, $2 burritos, candy, and music.

Ive only carved pumpkins a few times through out my life and I have to admit, I terribly lack skill in carving pumpkins. They never turn out the way I picture it to be, so instead I chose to go the easy route and paint pummy pumpkins.

Heres a DIY for a quick and easy braided headband. For this headband I decided to use different types of fabric. Using different material gives the hair piece a more interesting texture and overall look. I scoured my fabric boxes for scraps and decided to use lace, lyrca fabric, and tightly woven fabric. If your decide to use different fabric, I suggest you use at least one fabric that is stretchy, like a tshirt. The strips should be at least 40" long and the width is really up to you. The thinner the strips, the thinner your headband will be. I wouldn’t go thinner than about an inch though, the strands get really hard to work with.

Gather the fabric pieces together and leave about 8" of the fabric out and secure a knot. To make it easier to braid the fabric, tape the piece onto something (taped the piece onto my bedpost). You can then begin braiding the fabrics together.

As your braiding, make sure you leave 8" of the fabric unbraided. Then tie another knot to secure the headband.

And there you have it, your very own handmade braided headband.

Not only can you use this for a headband, but also a belt, bag handles, necklace, and a bracelet wrap.

Through October 8-10, D.C. held a food festival on Pennsylvania ave. Taste of DC is a food, wine, beer, and music festival. The event featured tastings and dishes from DC’s best restaurants, eateries and food trucks. My friend and I got to attend the last day of the festival and it was such a fun experience, trying new cuisines and stuffing our faces till we could no longer walk.

If you've taken a ride on "Its a Small World" at Walt Disney theme parks, you know the distinct playful, colorful, and vibrant style of the attraction. The name of late artist behind those well-known designs is Mary Blair. Today Google celebrates the Disney artist's life and work, and so must I. For on this day would have been her 100th birthday. Her playful and distinctive designs had a huge influence in my childhood years and still does till this day. Ive always been amazed at the simplicity of her style, every time i come across her work i feel a wonderful sense of nostalgia. Her art is is rendered in many Disney pieces, such as Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland, and Cinderella. Mary Blair's work will forever influence and inspire.

Since Halloween is around the corner, i thought it would be quite fitting to have a costume photoshoot. And since my cousins and I are obsessed with Adventure Time, i just had to get a Finn costume. If you dont know what Adventure Time is, then your a loser! Okay that was mean,sorry, but im pretty sure its probably the best cartoon out there. I searched around Etsy for the hat and backpack but to be honest, it was pretty pricey for a simple head piece. So i made a trip to the local fabric store and picked up lots of felt and whipped up a Finn costume. It really didnt take as long as i thought, printed out a Finn hat pattern online and cut out a basic shape to make the green backpack. Sewed the pieces together and picked up some blue shorts and a blue shirt and viola`! I think my little cousin Jez carries the same attributes as the main character Finn, so it was amusing watching him venture outdoors with the costume..

Oct 1st marked the 8th year of the Crafty Bastards Arts and Crafts festival. Again it was held at Marie Reeds Learning Center in Adams Morgan. This fun artsy festival is filled with amazing crafty vendors, a huge variety of yummy food, and tons of entertainment. Last year was the first year I attended this festival and I absolutely loved it! I have long awaited for this day to come so the rain and cold weather couldnt really stop me and neither did stop the rest of DMV area, there were tons of people who came out this year. Around the end of August, I ordered a batch of Instagram mini prints and Instagram stickers. They arrived in the mail a while ago so this post is kinda over due. Anyways I just love mini prints, it comes with a set of 48 prints which are printed on card stock with a matte finish. They are perfect tiny cards, you can write a personal note on the back and pass them out. Or just put them on display and hang them around for decoration.

I also received two little books filled with cute sized stickers, you can stick these little pieces just about anywhere. I purchased a black journal and covered the front with my instagram stickers.

Scattered Supplies

The other day I wanted to start on a few new projects, mostly paintings.

Now all the creating and designing process is carried out either on my desk or my comfy bed. In attempts to start sketching and what not, I just couldnt get myself to focus on the canvas in front of me, the scatter of art supplies engulfed my desk and practically my whole room. Paint tubes, buttons, lace, brushes, and thread unsightly spread out everywhere. Shame on me, I have not organized my material in a while and

I have this bad habit of not putting things back where they belong, specifically my art supplies. So before I could start on any projects, I just had to clean up and organize the mess I have collected within the past month. It definitely took some time to separate and disguard but it was therapeutic in a way, I had a chance to clear my head and start fresh. I also realized the great amount of supplies and fabric I have accumulated, I dont know why I still go out and buy art supplies when i have piles and piles of material in my room. So I promised myself to hold back from purchasing material I dont really need and try to utilize all the goods I already have, because I have a horrible tendency of buying items on sale at the fabric store and art store. I must restrain myself! Anyways altogether I feel quit accomplished.

These photos are some of my favorite shots of all time, not just because there a cute shots of my adorable little cousins but because there is just a sense of wonder and magic to these shots. I remember the moment I took these pictures they pulled me into their world of wondrous play and imagination, They were my guide, I followed their lead, listen, watched, and explored with them.

I'm obsessed with the 60's mod look, the clothing, the colors, and of course the make up and hair. I was always inspired by the 1960's style icon Twiggy. So for this photo shoot, the pretty pretty Emilie was the perfect model. So first i applied the make up, I used bold long lashes for the tip and bottom of the eye, swiped on a thick line of liquid liner close to the lid, applied a line black eye shadow on the crease of the lid, brushed on a light blush, and used white eye shadow to brighten it up. What I love about this look is the emphasis on the eyes, the lashes really make the eyes pop. Well this is my modern take of the 60's mod look. Hope you enjoy
