Water ballons and fireworks

I was up early on 4th of July, working a 5am shift at the Marriot. The thought of working on a holiday didn't bother me as much as it should of. I'd be out the door by 2 and of course the holiday pay would compensate. The 8 hour shift went by exceptionally slow due to the fact that the restaurant was completely dead. Clearly no one eats at restaurants on 4th of July, everyone is out getting their bbq on. Anyways after a long day at work, I spent the rest of the day with the family. The hot and humid weather was an excuse to whip out the water guns and water balloons, and get soaking wet. Its amazing how fast we went through 100 water filled balloons, I'm pretty sure we popped all the balloons in less than 7 mins, and it took us about 45 minutes just filling them up. Drenched from head to toe but the summer's sun certainly dried us off quickly.   We set plans to go to the Mall in DC to watch the fireworks but the thought of the crowds and traffic hindered us, so instead we settled for a spot in Indian Head. Unfortunately the fireworks weren't much of an entertainment but despite the lame and cheap fireworks, we had a great time together. We somehow always manage to make a blast out of dull situations. I love them so...
