Its a small world after all..

If you've taken a ride on "Its a Small World" at Walt Disney theme parks, you know the distinct playful, colorful, and vibrant style of the attraction. The name of late artist behind those well-known designs is Mary Blair. Today Google celebrates the Disney artist's life and work, and so must I. For on this day would have been her 100th birthday. Her playful and distinctive designs had a huge influence in my childhood years and still does till this day. Ive always been amazed at the simplicity of her style, every time i come across her work i feel a wonderful sense of nostalgia. Her art is is rendered in many Disney pieces, such as Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland, and Cinderella. Mary Blair's work will forever influence and inspire.

Crafty Bastard

Currently listening to I Wish by Eisely

Oct 1st marked the 8th year of the Crafty Bastards Arts and Crafts festival. Again it was held at Marie Reeds Learning Center in Adams Morgan. This fun artsy festival is filled with amazing crafty vendors, a huge variety of yummy food, and tons of entertainment. Last year was the first year I attended this festival and I absolutely loved it! I have long awaited for this day to come so the rain and cold weather couldnt really stop me and neither did stop the rest of DMV area, there were tons of people who came out this year. Anyways, I took quite a few shots of the event and the art pieces i utterly adored and here they are below, along with a link to the artist's site...

Have you heard of Society6?
This website has a growing community of artist from around the world. Its a place where artists can submit and sell their designs. The illustrations and photographs are available in the form of iPhone & laptop skins, prints, canvases, tshirts, and iPhone cases. I spent an hour just browsing through, trying to decide what design I should order for an iPhone case. Anyways here are some neat designs I found on Society6.

Jump into her world

YOU ME AND THE BOAT MAN by Quiet Company

                                                                                         Black Water
Recently I came across some paintings and I want to share them with you. First glace, I immediately fell in adoration with Krista Huot's chimerical pieces. Her paintings set an imaginary/ fantasy world that vividly illustrates a story. Krista's gallery of art explores folklore, inspiration from story books, folk art, and vintage kitsch. Check out her glorious gallery <3

Late night games of pick-up-sticks, I forgot how fun this game really is. My aunt bought me a pack when i was a wee little girl and I remember bringing it to school and playing it during recess. I know, the concept of the game sounds lame but it can get pretty intense haha

Visited my favorite cupcake shop this week/ Baked and Wired. Ordered something new for once and got  the blueberry lemon cupcake with a hot cup of americano of course. It was a scrumptious delight, especially since im a blueberry lover
